If I was a bird.

If I was a bird
   I could not fly.
My wings would not work.
If I was a sparrow,

my song would be bitter,
out of tune.
If I was a bird,
    I'd be truly lousy, at best.
Clumsy,

         heavy,
slow.
If I was a bird,
   My bones would be dense.

If I was a bird,
    I'd probably be dead.
